The Swamp was buzzing last night as the Lady Gators took to the field one last time for their final game of the regular season. The only thing on their minds… to close out their last game with a win over Osceola (Seminole) taking them to 5-0 at home. From the first draw to the final minutes of play, the Gators and Warriors were back and forth. Draw after draw, goal after goal, both teams played with everything they had for all 50 minutes. It was one of those nail-biters, on the edge of your seat, fist-clenching, what’s going to happen next games that keeps you on your toes, and probably one of the most exciting lacrosse games played this season. The Gators’ defense was pushed to their limits time and time again, but they continued to hustle, finding ways to stay in the game, and never giving up. In the end, it paid off and the Gators emerged victorious, winning 20-15. Key players for the Gators included: Sophia D’Amore (7G, 10GB, 16 SOG, 4DC), Chloe Norman (12G, 14GB, 18SOG, 6DC), Bethany Bonds (1G, 1A, 5GB, 5DC) and Autumn White (2GB, 1DC). The cherry on top was Sophomore goalie- Loletta Gay achieving her 100th career save! Way to go kid! The Gators (ranked 3rd overall) await their next competitor as they advance to FHSAA Districts next week for the first time in program history! Stay tuned to see who they take on next.
